Falconridge is a residential neighbourhood in the north-east quadrant of Calgary. It is bounded between 52nd Street and 68th Street and all the streets begin with "Fal." The area is close to the airport, accessed via McKnight Boulevard, but also lies underneath the secondary east-west runway often used for landings. The community is primarily low density residential with a mix of single family homes and townhouses. The area has a number of large parks. The new Prairie Winds Park, with an outdoor pool, is on the western side of the community. There are a number of restaurants (mostly chain) in the Falconridge Plaza. The Falconridge/ Castleridge community association is one of the most active in Calgary. The association is the only one in Alberta to be run on the Carver Model of Governance. This means that a chief operating officer and permanent staff are responsible for the day to day operation of the association, ensuring that operations are congruent with the direction set by the board of directors.
